What is AKIRA EXCLUSIVE?
Akira Exclusive is a special rewards program for our loyal customers. Points are earned on certain in-store (instore only, web excluded) purchases, which can be redeemed for rewards once certain thresholds are met.
You earn points on purchases which, after an escrow period of 14 days, transfer into reward discounts.
Where can I earn/redeem Akira Exclusive points?
Akira Exclusive points can only be earned and redeemed in our stores. Web purchases are excluded from the program.
At what rate do I earn points on my purchases?
Exclusive members earn 1 point per every $1 spent on eligible items. Platinum members earn 1.25 points on every $1 spent on eligible items.
How much does it cost?
It's absolutely free to enroll.
How do I enroll in Akira Exclusive?
Ask your cashier or stylist! Enrollment is easy and free and only requires a phone number.
Why do you need my phone number? Will my personal info be secure?
We use your phone number as a unique identifier in our system. If you lose your card you can always connect to your account/customer profile via your phone number. We will NEVER sell your info to a third party.
Will you ever contact me via my phone number?
We may contact you regarding exclusive promotions, sales or events.
Can I opt out or cancel?
Yes, it's entirely up to you if you'd like to enroll or not. You can cancel at any time.
I lost my Akira Exclusive card, how do I replace it?
Lost or stolen cards cannot be replaced. You can still utilize your loyalty account by giving the cashier your phone number.
Do points and rewards expire?
No. Neither points nor rewards will expire.
Are points earned on every item purchased? Or are some items excluded?
Not all styles or items will earn Akira Exclusive points. Some are excluded, including tax exempt purchases and shipping charges for items purchased and shipped from a brick and mortar store.
If I return an item, how are my points affected?
If you return an item your points will be deducted by the amount of the item(s). Store credit earns points at the same rate as your cash or credit/debit card.

How do I redeem my Akira rewards?
Your Akira rewards are redeemed as a discount on your in-store purchases. It can be applied at will at any time.
Are there any exclusions as to what I can apply my Akira rewards discount on?
Yes, certain items are excluded from Akira rewards discounts. Mostly items/styles that cannot be discounted in any way.
If I return an item purchase with Akira reward discounts, do I get my rewards back?
No. Once rewards discounts are redeemed they cannot be returned.
Is there a limit to the amount of points/rewards I can earn?
There is no limit to the amount of points/rewards you can earn.
What is the difference between the two tiers of membership?
Tier 1 (Exclusive) earns 1 point per every $1 spent. Tier 2 (Platinum) earns 1.25 points per every $1 spent. See Terms and Conditions below for more details.
How do I achieve Platinum status?
When you have spent $1,000 or more in eligible (point earning) purchases you will move from Exclusive to Platinum membership (after escrow period).
What is the 14 day holding period all about?
This is an escrow period where your points are held for the duration of our return/exchange period of 14 days. After the 14 day "escrow" your points will show in your account/turn into reward discounts if applicable. See Terms and Conditions below for more details.
Can I share my Akira Exclusive account with friends and family?
No. Akira Exclusive accounts are tied to customer profiles. Only you can earn points on your account. An ID is required for all reward redemptions.
What do I do if I have more than one Akira Exclusive account?
Notify your cashier. They will send a request to our office to merge your accounts into one.
The AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program Terms and Conditions
These terms govern your membership in the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE loyalty program. Please read these terms carefully. By enrolling in the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE loyalty program, you agree to be bound by these terms, as well as the other rules, policies, and procedures of the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE loyalty program. If you do not agree to any or all of these terms, do not enroll in the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE loyalty program. If you disagree with any changes to these terms, please cancel your AKIRA EXCLUSIVE loyalty program membership.
You must be 18 years old or older and a legal resident of the United States to join the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE loyalty program. By enrolling and participating in the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE loyalty program, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.
Joining the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program
You can join the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE loyalty program by verbally agreeing to sign up with a sales associate. Your telephone number is required for membership. AKIRA will not sell your information to 3rd party vendors.
To earn points, you must give the phone number associated with your account when making your purchase, or present your AKIRA EXCLUSIVE card. ID may be required to earn points. You can earn points by shopping at any AKIRA store, excluding the AKIRA online store. You will earn points based on the amount of your qualifying subtotal.
1 point is awarded for each qualifying pre-tax dollar spent.
10 bonus points are awarded for every $50 in qualifying pre-tax dollars spent in any one transaction.
If a member reaches $1,000 in qualifying pre-tax dollars spent over her/his membership history, the membership reaches Platinum status. Platinum members earn 1.25 points for every qualifying pre-tax dollar spent.
From time to time, AKIRA may change the rate of points awarded per dollar spent, or reward members with additional points for promotional purposes. AKIRA reserves the right to do so at any time.
Points you earn by shopping will be held in a "pending" status for a 14 day escrow period. After the 14-day escrow period, if they are confirmed by AKIRA, the points will be active in your account and if they reach a threshold for rewards, will automatically transfer to available reward discounts. During the pending status escrow period, AKIRA may review and correct your balance.
Certain purchases do not qualify for earning points. Gift card purchases are not eligible to earn points. Tax exempt transactions and purchases made by tax exempt organizations (e.g. churches, schools, etc.) are not eligible to earn points. Certain styles (including certain event tickets, tax exempt sales, and special items) may also be ineligible for earning points. AKIRA may revise these exclusions from time to time.
Purchases made on the AKIRA online store, or through any website, including special orders placed through shopAKIRA.com while at a brick and mortar store, are not eligible for points.
If you return a purchase for a refund, the points originally earned for that purchase will be subtracted from your total points.
Only one membership account may be used in connection with a purchase. Points will only post to one account per person. AKIRA cannot transfer points between customer accounts. AKIRA can merge two membership accounts if they belong to the same person, however this process will require documentation and will not be handled immediately at the stores.
Points are subject to change at any time at AKIRA's sole discretion. Points have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash or gift cards. Points are not transferable. Additional terms and conditions and restrictions may apply, without notice, at AKIRA's discretion.
Turning Points into Rewards
Points are automatically transferred into reward discounts, following a 14 day escrow period, after an account has reached the point threshold to earn rewards. According to AKIRA's Exchange Policy, returns are only accepted within 14 days of purchase. If a return is made during the escrow period and the point deduction brings the point value of the account below the threshold to earn rewards, then the points will not transfer into rewards. Once points have been transferred into rewards, this process cannot be reversed.
Reward discounts are based on a customer's total points earned following the escrow period. Reward discounts are redeemed in $10 increments, at a rate of $10 discount per 300 points.
Reward discounts, including redemption rates and value, are subject to change at any time at AKIRA's discretion.
Redeeming Reward Discounts
You can redeem reward discounts at any physical AKIRA store. The reward discounts are treated as a discount at time of transaction. The reward value redeemed will be deducted from your account. Certain items may be excluded from reward redemption, including non-discountable styles and gift certificates. Tax exempt transactions are not eligible for Akira Rewards discounts. Any purchases made by tax exempt organizations (e.g. churches, schools, etc.) are not eligible for Akira Rewards discounts.
Your AKIRA EXCLUSIVE reward card or phone number will be required to redeem reward discounts. Additionally, your ID must be presented and match the name on the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE account to redeem reward discounts.
Once a reward discount has been used, the discount portion of the sale is final. No reward discounts will be refunded back to a customer's account, at any time. If a customer makes a return or exchange on a purchase in which a reward discount has been applied, he/she will only receive a refund (store credit) for the post-discount purchase and the value of the reward discount will be forfeited.
Reward discounts are subject to change at any time at AKIRA's sole discretion. Reward discounts have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash or gift cards. Reward discounts are not transferable.

From time to time, AKIRA may contact you with information about the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program and other offers and information that we think may interest you. By becoming a member of the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program, you agree to receive advertising, marketing materials, and other communications from AKIRA and its related parties. AKIRA will not sell your information to any third parties. You may opt out from receiving marketing communications from AKIRA at any time. To do so, click on the unsubscribe link in the bottom of the email and complete the opt-out process or e-mail us at [email protected] If you opt-out of receiving all emails, you will still be eligible to participate in the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program, however you will not receive AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program communications via email about offers and promotions within the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program.
Cancelling Your Account
You can cancel your AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program account at any time by emailing our Customer Service department at [email protected] AKIRA reserves the right to terminate your AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program account, and void any points accumulated in such account(s), if you, at AKIRA's sole discretion, violate any of these terms or any applicable law, earn points by deception, forgery, or fraud, or commit any other abuse of the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program.
Once your account is cancelled or terminated, all of your points and rewards will be forfeited.
AKIRA reserves the right, without limitation, to terminate, change, limit, modify, or cancel all or any part of the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program terms, conditions, rules, regulations, benefits, or points at any time, with or without notice, even though such changes may affect the value of already issued points or other benefits.
Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
By participating in the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program, you release Bijora, Inc. (dba AKIRA), and each of its respective affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, fees, and other expenses (including, without limitation, attorney's fees) arising from or relating to participation in the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program or agreement to these terms.
THE AKIRA EXCLUSIVE LOYALTY PROGRAM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AKIRA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, WITH RESPECT TO THE AKIRA EXCLUSIVE LOYALTY PROGRAM (INCLUDING THOSE RELATED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT AND THOSE ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING, USAGE, OR TRADE). TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AKIRA WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING FOR THE INDIRECT LOSS OF PROFIT, REVENUE, OR DATA) ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE AKIRA EXCLUSIVE LOYALTY PROGRAM, HOWEVER CAUSED, AND UNDER WHATEVER CAUSE OF ACTION OR THEORY OF LIABILITY BROUGHT (INCLUDING UNDER ANY CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, OR OTHER TORT THEORY OF LIABILITY) EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Venue and Choice of Law
ALL ISSUES AND QUESTIONS CONCERNING THE CONSTRUCTION, VALIDITY, INTERPRETATION AND ENFORCEABILITY OF THESE TERMS OR THE RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF YOU OR AKIRA IN CONNECTION WITH THE AKIRA EXCLUSIVE LOYALTY PROGRAM SHALL BE GOVERNED BY AND CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INTERNAL LAWS OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS WITHOUT GIVING EFFECT TO ANY CHOICE OF LAW OR CONFLICT OF LAW RULES OR PROVISIONS THAT WOULD CAUSE THE APPLICATION OF ANY OTHER STATE'S LAWS. FOR THE PURPOSES OF ANY DISPUTES HEREUNDER, BY ENROLLING OR PARTICIPATING IN THE AKIRA EXCLUSIVE LOYALTY PROGRAM, YOU AGREE THAT ANY AND ALL DISPUTES, CLAIMS, AND CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY RELATED TO THE AKIRA EXCLUSIVE LOYALTY PROGRAM SHALL BE RESOLVED INDIVIDUALLY, WITHOUT RESORT TO ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION AND YOU CONSENT TO THE EXCLUSIVE JURISDICTION AND VENUE OF THE APPROPRIATE STATE OR FEDERAL COURT SITUATED IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
By enrolling and participating in the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program, you agree: (i) that any and all disputes you may have with, or claims you may have against AKIRA relating to, arising out of, or connected in any way with (a) the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program, and/or (b) the determination of the scope or applicability of this agreement to arbitrate, will be resolved exclusively by final and binding arbitration administered by JAMS and conducted before a sole arbitrator in accordance with the rules of JAMS; (ii) this arbitration agreement is made pursuant to a transaction involving interstate commerce, and shall be governed by the Federal Arbitration Act ("FAA"), 9 U.S.C. §§ 1-16; (iii) the arbitration shall be held in Cook County, Illinois; (iv) the arbitrator's decision shall be controlled by these terms and any of the other agreements referenced herein that you may have entered into in connection with the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program; (v) the arbitrator shall apply Illinois law consistent with the FAA and applicable statutes of limitations, and shall honor claims of privilege recognized at law; (vi) there shall be no authority for any claims to be arbitrated on a class or representative basis, arbitration can decide only your and/or AKIRA's individual claims; the arbitrator may not consolidate or join the claims of other persons or parties who may be similarly situated; (vii) the arbitrator shall not have the power to award punitive damages against you or AKIRA; and (viii) with the exception of subpart (vi) above, if any part of this arbitration provision is deemed to be invalid, unenforceable or illegal, or otherwise conflicts with the rules of JAMS, then the balance of this arbitration provision shall remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with its terms as if the invalid, unenforceable, illegal or conflicting provision were not contained herein. If, however, subpart (vi) is found to be invalid, unenforceable or illegal, then the entirety of this arbitration provision shall be null and void, and neither you nor AKIRA shall be entitled to arbitrate their dispute. In all matters relating to the administration of the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program, the decisions of AKIRA shall be final. AKIRA is not responsible for communication problems of any kind relating to the AKIRA EXCLUSIVE Loyalty Program. Under no circumstances will AKIRA be held liable for any delay or failure in performance due in whole or in part to any acts of nature or other causes beyond its reasonable control. Except as otherwise provided under heading Arbitration, if any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, then that provision will be deemed severable from these terms and will not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining provisions. The failure of AKIRA to enforce any right or provision of these terms will not prevent AKIRA from enforcing such right or provision in the future. These terms cannot be modified or amended in any way except in a written document issued in accordance with law by a duly authorized representative of AKIRA. AKIRA may assign its rights and obligations under these terms, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets or equity, or by operation of law.
