Size Guide: Overview

Shopping online can be frustrating when it comes to finding the perfect fitting clothing piece or accessory. At shopAKIRA.com, accurate measurements and fit are important in order for our customer to find the perfect item.

The size charts are general guidelines for average measurements. Sizes will vary depending on designer, cut, style and fabrication. Most of our clothing will fit true to size unless otherwise noted. Our models are on average of 5'9 - 5'10 and wear a size small, size 2 - 4.

Please note that many of the AKIRA labeled dresses lean toward a body conscious fit.

Size Guide: Shoes

Shoe size may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Fit is tested using size 8-8.5 shoe. Recommendations to order smaller or larger shoe will be visible on description (e.g., "runs narrow; order 1/2 size up.")

HOW TO MEASURE SHOE SIZE LENGTH: Place ruler on the ground, perpendicular to the wall, so the '0' is against the wall. In bare feet, step on the ruler, with the back of your heel against the wall. The measurement taken at the longest part of your foot determines your shoe size.

HOW TO MEASURE SHOE SIZE WIDTH: With the ruler in the same position, step with your bare foot onto the ruler - this time with the outside of your foot touching the wall. The measurement taken at the widest part of your foot determines your shoe width.

HOW TO MEASURE HEEL HEIGHT: We measure from a size 8-8.5 shoe and will vary slightly depending on the size you order. The heel is measured up the center back of the heel to where it meets the sole. All measurements are approximate and rounded down to the nearest quarter inch.

This top is amazing. It's a velvety/suede like material and doesn't come across cheap at all. It was slightly tricky to get on for me, but I think it's cause of my acrylic nails that made it hard to button the buttons behind the neck. So I buttoned it first, slide it over my head and arms in, then zipped it up the back. But once on, it was PERFECT. I can't wait to be able to wear this somewhere. You could dress it up with a cute midi skirt, or down with jeans and heals and would be stunning either way. Shoulders have some materials in the sleeves to keep them puffy as well. Love, love, love! For reference, I am 5'4", curvy, about 150 lbs and I got the L. I usually wear a 6-8, but was afraid because I have thicker arms that a 6 would be too small. I may have been able to squeeze into a smaller size, but glad I went with the L.
