Shopping online can be frustrating when it comes to finding the perfect fitting clothing piece or accessory. At shopAKIRA.com, accurate measurements and fit are important in order for our customer to find the perfect item.
The size charts are general guidelines for average measurements. Sizes will vary depending on designer, cut, style and fabrication. Most of our clothing will fit true to size unless otherwise noted. Our models are on average of 5'9 - 5'10 and wear a size small, size 2 - 4.
Please note that many of the AKIRA labeled dresses lean toward a body conscious fit.
If you are uncertain about a particular style, please contact our customer service team by phone at 1-866-477-2299 during regular hours M-F 9:00AM-6:00PM CST or by email at [email protected].
Our tighter-fit AKIRA label dresses tend to run a bit small. Please refer to the below
AKIRA denim comes with stretch. If you are in between sizes and prefer a snug fit, consider sizing down.
Shoe size may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Fit is tested using size 8-8.5 shoe. Recommendations to order smaller or larger shoe will be visible on description (e.g., "runs narrow; order 1/2 size up.")
HOW TO MEASURE SHOE SIZE LENGTH: Place ruler on the ground, perpendicular to the wall, so the '0' is against the wall. In bare feet, step on the ruler, with the back of your heel against the wall. The measurement taken at the longest part of your foot determines your shoe size.
HOW TO MEASURE SHOE SIZE WIDTH: With the ruler in the same position, step with your bare foot onto the ruler - this time with the outside of your foot touching the wall. The measurement taken at the widest part of your foot determines your shoe width.
HOW TO MEASURE HEEL HEIGHT: We measure from a size 8-8.5 shoe and will vary slightly depending on the size you order. The heel is measured up the center back of the heel to where it meets the sole. All measurements are approximate and rounded down to the nearest quarter inch.
Though I am no longer a young woman, I still only buy and wear only Reebok sports shoes.
I began wearing Reeboks in the mid 1980s, I owned the original Reebok High Tops. I was not able to afford them working myself, in Los Angeles -when your footwear, reflected your "cool" factor. I was embarrassed wearing a no name brand to meetings and sober dances then.
While I struggled to keep roof overhead, my best friend had a secure job with the Post Office , and she knowing all, about my wants and dreams -gifted me my 1st pair of Reebok high tops, for Christmas. It is a thing, I will NEVER forget. I was overwhelmed with her kindness. I remain Reeboks Only girl due to the superior Arch Support they have, unlike any other brands of sport shoes I have tried since.
Still, though I cannot afford them brand New, I can find them in my size, online, in very good used condition, and that... speaks volumes, about their manufacturing care and specifications. All my footwear , still must have excellent arch support and MUST last many seasons. Reeboks then, and now, continue, to meet that need for me. So why... buy anything else??
Staying sober worked out for me also, and I have kept that habit up too.
Though I lost that best friend eventually, to her choice of drinking again, I now maintain 35 years fully clean and sober.
In my shoe-wear and life, only-the BEST support , for me.
