The Position
Director of Technology Services

Overview:
The Director of Technology Services will lead and oversee all technology-related operations at Akira, encompassing both the corporate office and all retail stores nationwide. This role demands strategic IT planning, robust management of retail and corporate technology, and an overarching vision to integrate technology solutions across diverse operational environments.
Essential Functions:
Comprehensive Technology Oversight:
- Direct all aspects of technology, including retail store systems, corporate IT, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and POS systems
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all technology systems
- Own all technology support operations
Retail Technology Management:
- Oversee technology in retail environments, including POS, digital signage, inventory systems, and customer-facing technologies
- Manage technology deployment for new store openings and upgrades
Corporate IT Strategy and Infrastructure:
- Develop and maintain robust corporate IT infrastructure, including data centers, cloud services, and internal communication networks
- Implement and oversee corporate-wide IT policies, security protocols, and compliance standards
Vendor Management and Procurement:
- Negotiate and manage contracts with technology vendors and service providers
- Oversee procurement and configuration of technology equipment and software
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead a diverse team of IT professionals, fostering an environment of growth and innovation
- Promote a culture of excellence in customer service and technical support
Budget and Resource Allocation:
- Manage the IT budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective solutions
- Drive technology investments that align with strategic business goals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 8+ years in IT management, with significant experience in a multi-site retail environment
- Proven track record in managing retail and corporate IT infrastructures
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills
